Starting ABA therapy can feel overwhelming, but at Golden View Learning Center, we guide families through every step of the enrollment process. From submitting the initial request to beginning services, our team ensures a smooth, supportive experience. The entire process typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on your availability and insurance approval timelines, and we work to create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your child's needs.
A brief phone call to discuss your child's needs and verify insurance is an important part of the enrollment process for ABA therapy. This step ensures that your child’s assessment and future therapy sessions are covered and medically authorized, allowing us to create an individualized treatment plan tailored to their specific needs.
To begin the enrollment process for ABA therapy, we need your child’s diagnostic report and insurance member ID. Once we receive these documents, we will submit a request for initial assessment authorization to your insurance company.
Typical insurance response time: 5–7 days
This step ensures that your child’s assessment and future therapy sessions are covered and medically authorized as part of their individualized treatment plan.
Once authorization is received, we will schedule your child’s BCBA-led initial assessment at one of our San Diego County centers, which is an essential step in the enrollment process for ABA therapy. This evaluation serves as the foundation of your child's success. During this session, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst will:
- Clinical Observation: Evaluate your child in both structured tasks and natural play settings to see their true potential.
- Caregiver Collaboration: Conduct interviews to align our goals with your family's priorities and daily routines.
- Skill Mapping: Review developmental history to identify specific strengths and areas for growth.
- Tailored Goal Setting: Gather the data necessary to build a 100% individualized treatment plan.
After the assessment, a detailed report is prepared outlining your child’s individualized treatment plan. Once signed by parents, this report is submitted to your insurance company as part of the enrollment process for approval of ongoing ABA therapy services.
Typical insurance review time: 2–3 weeks
This step ensures that your child’s treatment plan is authorized and meets the necessary insurance requirements.
As soon as your child’s services are approved, Golden View Learning Center will reach out to you to coordinate your child’s therapy schedule, ensuring a smooth enrollment process. Depending on your availability, ABA therapy services can often commence as early as the following Monday. Each session is designed around an individualized treatment plan that aligns with your child’s goals, needs, and family schedule. From the initial assessment to starting therapy, our aim is to create a seamless, supportive, and stress-free experience for families.
