Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a research-based therapy which uses scientifically proven learning techniques to bring about positive and meaningful change in behavior in individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. Data is collected to measure which learning techniques are working best for each individual. The goal of ABA therapy is to have the learner master skills across different settings.
Children receive 1:1 support from a qualified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
All technicians are supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA).
ABA therapy sessions are Monday-Friday and the length depends on the treatment plan.
Session times are 8am-12pm, 12pm-4pm and 8am-4pm
Comprehensive ABA refers to treatment of the multiple affected developmental domains. These programs tend to range from 25-40 hours of treatment per week.
Focused ABA is appropriate for individuals who need treatment only for a limited number of key skills. These programs tend to range up to 20 hours per week.
Learners work 1:1 with highly trained professionals to develop skills in each of our core focus areas. Progress is closely monitored, and programs are adjusted as each child acquires target skills.
When children are paired with a peer buddy, this provides an opportunity to expand individualized learning to a small group setting. Enriching activities such as art, reading, outdoor activities, and music are embedded into the agenda.
Structured group play sessions allow learners to develop fundamental skills related to peer interaction and cooperative play.
Self-care programs teach children to care for their own needs such as feeding, dressing, or brushing teeth. Learning to take care of their own needs can lead to increased self-confidence in children as well as and increased sense of freedom for caregivers.
Toilet training can be a challenging process for any child let alone a child with autism. Out toilet training plans allows your child to learn to use the toilet quickly and can lead to increased confidence.
Feeding interventions are developed for children who show signs of food selectivity and designed to expand their food repertoires, volume, texture, and other food-related problems. Picky eating can be cause for concern when children do not receive the nutrients they need to grow and thrive.
As children transition into the school environment, Golden View Learning Center will provide opportunities for children to learn school readiness skills and will work closely with the school to ensure appropriate supports are in place to help your child succeed in their new setting.
When it comes to their child, parents are the experts. It is our role to enhance parents' skills to support their children throughout their lives. Family education is an integral component of our ABA programs. Golden View Learning Center is here to help your child reach his or her full potential and to help your family grow stronger.
Did you know that recent California law mandates that most health insurance plans cover ABA treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder?
